Default Hard Mode Mission Builds

I was just wondering what most users consider to be some of the best Ele builds to use when playing through missions in hard mode? or the best lines to focus on?

I'm guessing fire doesn't have much of a use in hard mode?

Well other then ursan depends on your profession. Of course Sabsway is great... as an ele I do use Fire: Mind Blast+Rodgort's+Finish Him!+Techobabble+Pain inverter+Fire Attunement, add something like Fireball or Liquid Flame

Do you not find it a problem sometimes running Mind Blast if some of the enemies in hard mode like Ele's for example have a higher energy pool than you?

If you start to run low on energy, you could always target the nearest Warrior or Paragon and start blasting away. I haven't tried it personally but it should work.

i've found when i have a problem with energy w/ mindblast i change to a e +15 -1 regen set and it gets it back up fine.

Fire works just fine in HM. I got my LG title with primarily 3-4 [searing flames] Eles. Didn't work everywhere, but 90% of the time it was just fine.

My tip for HM would be to look at burning rather than direct fire damage. Mark of Rodgort is your friend

Good point. [Mark of Rodgort] + [Searing Flames] = no dead casts (casts that only cause burning).

A build which i have used quite a lot is:

[Searing Flames][Glowing Gaze][Pain Inverter][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Ward of Weakness][Ebon Battle Standard of Courage][Fire Attunement][Flesh of My Flesh]

Just make sure not to keep spamming Searing Flames because then your energy is just gone :P

...and I take a second Ele hero with a similar build, but with Mark of Rodgort instead of Deep Freeze and a Resurrect. Can use Arcane Echo on Savannah Heat if you want, but I prefer to rely on the Ebon Standard and my Weapon Mods.

For Everywhere other than The Eternal Grove:

[build prof=E/Me name="IT BLINDS!" box air=12+1+1 energystorage=12+1 desc="Weapon #1: Enchanting Weapon"][Ether Renewal][Air Attunement][Aura of Restoration][Blinding Flash][Epidemic][Lightning Orb][Lightning Hammer][No Skill][/build]
...take a PvE Skill or a Res in the last slot. I usually take a second Ele hero as Earth, a similar build to Squishy's above.


The Fire Build I ONLY use in The Eternal Grove. I find 2 Triple Heat Eles, an MM and a Monk is all that's needed to hold each gate. For everything else I just blind the living daylights out of all things physical. Eles are far better at party support in Hard Mode in my experience.

This seems like a good build for you to use alongside our heroes.

To be honest, Warfare, I would go with Splinter Weapon, remove GoLE and MS and put in Teinai's and Searing and replace Ancestors with Splinter.

Wanding makes it blow stuff up too.

Lacks Ebon Vanguard Assassin.

With Assassin's Promise that skill is pure sex, especially at a high rank when you can have about 5 jumping round the place.

Yes, AP is your BFF in HM, especially as an ele. W/proper timing, you can pull a glyphsac+MS on every foe you're facing, but be prepared to face ub3r exhaustion XD. But AP allows you to insta recharge some loooong recharge spells, such as the glyph sac MS in the above mentioned bar. But I would also add [ebon vanguard assassin support][you move like a dwarf] and [finish him]. the only fire skills you need are the glyph+MS, fire attune, and 1 aoe spell. Then add the 3 PVE skills and you can change them up however you want. EX: when fighting an ele boss, [pain inverter] is always an excellent choice in HM. But I <3 the ymlad, assassin support, and MS combo. 3 ways to keep an opponent on his ass? That's always fun.

I just started using that build, its super seksy;who doesn't love insta-cast spammable 9 sec AoE KD with 100+ dmg?. Having multiple sins running around is fun too ^^

Well, I tend to go with this for vanquishing :

Air 16, Energy 14, Sunspear Rank 10
Invoke Lightning, Lightning Orb, Shock Arrow, Necrosis, Energy Blast, Aura of Resotoration, Air Attunement. Final slot is optional.

Optional skill used : Pain Inverter, Light of Deldrimor, Sniper Support, "Finish Him!", Glyph of Swiftness

Usage as you can see is easy. Lightning Orb to set initial condition for necrosis spam (90 armour ignoring damage). Energy Blast or shock arrow while awaiting necrosis to recharge. Occasional invoke lightning when I see fit for a minor group spike.

Having read this and another post, I think I might try the E/A combining Assa Promise with churning earth and eruption.

^ this, this owns HM. Though personally I'd put enfeeble on a hero necro and run [Obsidian Flame], [Energy Blast], or [Glowstone]. Just chain the AoE so when one ends the other casts, and no melee, ranged attackers or even casters will be able to do much. Open with Churning and you shut down a whole mob right off the bat, unsteady takes out caster/ranger wads or makes a sort of ward VS melee. I had this on an ele hero for a good long time, vanquished most of elona on my ranger with it. When I get around to vanquishing on my ele I'll run with earth magic.
